Under this contract, PPI is responsible for providing task support services for ATF’s Office of Science and Technology (OST). This contract is for network management support. Network management support is necessary for a variety of computer and communication equipment. Examples of this equipment are: UNIX servers, Microsoft Windows servers, Cisco routers and switches, frame relay lines, T1 lines, and PBX systems.

Under this contract, PPI computer repair engineers perform repair, maintenance, relocation and support of all Census-owned desktop computing equipment. This entails approximately 6,000 desktop computers, network printers and associated equipment. The desktop computers are primarily Dell. The servers are both Dell and Compaq, and the printers are Hewlett Packard. PPI also supports other manufacturers' equipment, in smaller quantities.
