Our Earned Value
Management process is a
project management technique for estimating how a project is
doing in terms of its budget and schedule. It is a process
used to measure a project’s progress, forecast its
completion date and final cost, and provide schedule and
budget variances along the way. The Office of Management and
Budget Circular A-11 states “agencies must use a
performance-based acquisition management system based on
ANSI/EIA Standard 748 to measure achievement of the cost,
schedule, and performance goals” for projects. PPI has
developed a EVM system and process using tools that include
Microsoft Project, Excel and Visio. Our EVM process enables
us to effectively monitor and compare our progress against
cost and schedule baselines. At any given point, we are able
to identify and report on any problems or trends that we use
to minimize any potential adverse impact to the project.
